The woman arrived at the Heavenly ski center with her friends on Thursday, January 25, but by the end of the first day she was so tired that she decided not to take the last slide if she didn’t have to.
He approached one of the employees of the ski center and asked if he could take the lift down to the bottom of the slope, and after receiving an affirmative answer, he got into one of the gondolas. This happened two minutes before five o’clock in the afternoon, and the lift stopped at five o’clock sharp.
Laso didn’t have a phone, so he yelled as long as he could, but to no avail, no one heard him. Meanwhile, her friends reported her missing to the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
Monica Las was not found until fifteen hours after her disappearance, when the lift was restarted. The woman was fine considering the circumstances, but was treated on the spot by the rescue teams. Kim Geroge, a spokesperson for the local ambulance and fire department, said there had not been a similar incident in twenty years.
The Heavenly ski resort has launched an investigation into the matter.
