A case for computer fraud and illegal access to an information system was filed by the Konitsa Police Department against a 23-year-old Albanian and a 22-year-old Greek woman.
In February 2022, it was reported by a hotel unit owner that, after receiving a phone call from an unknown person to book a room, he then received a message on his mobile phone, purporting to be from a bank, and then entered his personal e-banking login credentials . Following this, he found that his bank account had been credited with the total amount of 37,450 euros, which was then directly transferred in parts to the defendants’ accounts, together with the amount of 100 euros that was in his account.
