BOLZANO. A woman from Bolzano was reported for the crime of theft for having stolen the shopping bag from a couple of customers. It happened inside the Twenty shopping center in Bolzano.
The couple, after doing the shopping, stopped at a bar in the shopping center for a coffee. When they were leaving, they noticed that one of their shopping bags was missing. However, they immediately encountered a woman walking away with their bag: they stopped her, asking for explanations, and thinking that she had taken the bag by mistake.
The woman, however, strongly denied what had happened and tried to move away from the two, who turned to the centre’s security staff, who in turn alerted the police.
When the officers arrived on site, the couple who were victims of the theft pointed out the woman, who was still sitting on one of the benches in the shopping centre; the officers checked the backpack he had with him, inside which the goods stolen shortly before were found, and indicated by the victims complete with receipt and customer code.
The woman, in her defense, said that she stopped at the same bar as the couple, together with a friend of hers, who apparently left before her, and that she thought that the envelope in question was something left behind by her friend, and consequently having taken it and then returned it to him.
At that point the envelope was taken over by the police and returned to its rightful owners.
The officers, after having viewed the video surveillance images of the shopping centre, thanks to which they were able to verify everything that had happened shortly before, reported the woman to the Bolzano Public Prosecutor’s Office for the crime of theft.
