A 47-year-old Bulgarian was discovered to be concerned in a case of phone fraud, which passed off on April 7 in Ioannina in opposition to a 75-year-old girl.
An unknown confederate of the defendant known as the 75-year-old girl and, underneath the pretense of being a hospital physician, satisfied her handy over a sum of twenty-two,000 euros to cowl her daughter’s hospitalization bills, after an accident she had allegedly suffered inside her residence.
The amount of cash was obtained from the aged girl’s home by the defendant, as a messenger of the alleged physician. His particulars have been recognized after an investigation carried out by the Safety Directorate of Ioannina, in collaboration with the Division of Legal Investigations of the Common Regional Police Directorate of Epirus. A case file was filed in opposition to him, which was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Workplace of Ioannina.
