Paris: In the warm-up match against Tunisia before the World Cup, Brazil won a brilliant five-goal victory against one. However, Brazil coach Tite was furious after that match. It wasn’t his own team’s mistakes on the field that upset Tite. The Brazil coach was angered by the way opponents Tunisia approached the game.
The friendly match at the Parc de Princes, however, lacked ‘friendliness’. The match progressed with heavy fouls from the beginning of the game. With the lion’s share of the Tunisian crowd in the gallery, the African side were determined to pull out all the stops to avoid defeat, and the match became heated.
In the meantime, Tite became angry when the Tunisian players took out Brazilian superstar Neymar’s lax. A Tunisian player was sent off in the 42nd minute for a severe foul on Neymar. Tite has alleged that the Tunisian players deliberately committed heavy fouls against their star player with the intention of knocking Neymar out of the World Cup.
“We knew it was going to be tough on the field. But such a situation was not expected. Look what happened to Neymar. It was an attempt to keep a player out of the World Cup. If that had happened… I can’t even imagine’ – Tite said. Neymar also said that, to be honest, a lot of the match worried him.
