The Murcian town of Molina de Segura has experienced a very tense municipal plenary session this Monday after the new government of PP and Vox has eliminated the Department of Equality to replace it with a Family one, controlled precisely by the far-right party. A decision that has motivated a neighborhood protest during a session in which the Local Police have even tried to evict a woman who had attended the plenary session.
It has happened during a session in which the PSOE presented a motion to recover the Equality area, according to ‘eldiario.es‘, and to which members of different feminist associations of the municipality had attended.
At one point, the ‘popular’ mayor, José Ángel Alfonso, has ordered the Local Police to identify one of them, as denounced by the PSOE on its social networks, where it includes the moment in which the mayor has launched the order: “Agent of the Local Police, identify that lady, please”.
The woman, a member of one of the feminist associations present there, has refused to leave the plenary session and has later told ‘eldiario.es’ that they had come to protest against the elimination of the Department of Equality. After reading a manifesto, she has indicated, the head of Family, of Vox, has spoken, whose intervention has been met with protests in the room, at which time the mayor has ordered the Police to identify her.
The attempt to expel this neighbor, as can be seen in the video, has been met with cries of protest and indignation from those present, and finally the woman has remained in the room. A situation that the Molinense Feminist Movement has also denounced through social networks:
