With the aim of ensuring the well-being of the population, the Consumer Ombudsman’s Office carried out a day of inspections of the agroservice sector in San Vicente, to prevent unjustified increases and price speculation.
This inspection was carried out at the La Cuma agroservice, where the Consumer Ombudsman’s teams corroborated the prices and supply of various agricultural inputs, mainly herbicides, concentrates, insecticides, fertilizers, fungicides and foliars.
“We know that this month of May it begins to be activated and based on this we are carrying out verifications. This effort has an important aspect of more than 80 products that are essential in different areas of agricultural inputs,” said Salazar.
The teams in these inspections make information requests from suppliers dedicated to the import, distribution and marketing of agricultural inputs. These are carried out simultaneously throughout the country.
“We have already fined agroservices, importers or distributors of agricultural inputs due to the obstruction or unjustified increase in essential products such as agricultural inputs. Based on this, we are going to continue with this effort,” he stressed and recalled that these offenses can lead to fines of up to 500 minimum wages.
