The prosecutor’s office today (Sunday) filed an indictment against two residents of Netanya, Shalu Saada and Zion Elmo in their 20s, after they stabbed a man over a financial dispute. Another indictment was filed against Haim Elmo, also a resident of Netanya, who assisted after the act.

The incident took place about two weeks ago, when a man in his 30s was stabbed and shot near a food stand in Netanya and is being referred for further medical treatment as his condition is moderate. The indictment states that Shalu Saada’s brother contacted that person and asked him to return the money he owed him. When the debts were not returned, Saada himself turned to him demanding that he settle the debt.

It also emerged that about six months later, Elmo also contacted the complainant, introducing himself as Yitzhak Abergil’s partner. The complainant replied that they would be returned directly to Saada’s brother. Last month and at noon today, the aforementioned man arrived at the food stall in Netani, minutes later Saada and Elmo also arrived at the scene, equipped with Japanese knives and a gun.

The indictment states that the two attacked him in the back and then also in the head and face. Following this, the complainant fled behind a counter and grabbed the knife that was there to defend himself. Later, Saada shot the complainant and hit him in the leg, but when he tried to continue shooting, he encountered an unknown malfunction and fled the scene. At the same time, Elmo tried to stab the complainant, but stopped his actions after a person who was there pushed him away, and later escaped as well.

It was also noted that after a few days in which he fled, the police located Elmo hiding in Haim Elmo’s house. While he was hiding in his apartment, Chaim wrote to him, among other things: “Be quiet, don’t move anything… as if there is no one at home… Zion, they know you are there, call Sarit now, tell her we are waiting here, we are not moving today.” The indictment also states that 23 grams of cocaine were found in Shalu’s apartment.

The indictment attributes to Shiloh and Ziyon the offenses of aggravated assault with intent, unlawful possession of a knife and conspiracy. Offenses of carrying weapons and ammunition and possession of drugs other than for personal consumption are also attributed to him. Chaim Elmo is charged with aiding and abetting after the fact. In addition, a request for detention until the end of the proceedings was submitted against Shalev and Zion.
