Dozens of boys, girls and young people participated this weekend in the Basic Schools Skating Festival at the Cafetalón sports center in Santa Tecla.
The activity brought together the boys and girls registered in the skating clubs of San Marcos, San Miguel, Soyapango, Ilopango, San Jacinto, Santa Tecla and for the first time Chalatenango; who showed their skills in this sporting discipline.
The mayor of Santa Tecla reported that according to the number of medals received at the skating festival, the winners were the schools of San Marcos, El Cafetalón and Las Delicias.
“We come to support our daughter who has been practicing skating for 6 months and has liked it. I invite parents to encourage their children to practice any sport,” said a mother.
Skating offers the same benefits as running; with the advantage that the joints, such as the knees, do not suffer wear and tear from impacts, since it is a sliding in which the feet barely leave the ground.
