After the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of Chihuahua notified the Senate of the Republic about a new arrest warrant against the senator of Brunette, Javier Corral Jurado, The legislator assured that there is no possibility that they can stop him, since he has a provisional suspension and there is no collaboration between the prosecutors’ offices.
“Clumsiness and desperation caused break the law again and to try, without collaboration with any authority, nor with an agreement that makes it possible, to repeat the media show of a few days ago against me.”
After being sworn in as senator, Javier Corral He assured that the arrest warrant against him was intended to generate debate during the installation session of the new Legislature.
“They came to deliver a document, again in a failed attempt because there is obviously no possibility that they can arrest me. I don’t know which police officers they were, what I know is that they did it with the collaboration of the senators of the PAN, and with Manlio Fabio Beltrones. In fact, the PAN has leaked the entire arrest warrant to the media,” Corral said.
Corral Jurado reiterated his position from a few days ago when he said that he would not defend himself under the Constitutional jurisdiction: “Let it be very clear:I do not hide, I entered the Senate on my own and I took the oath as a senator of the Republic, with my head held high, because I know the governor that I was and my values and principles have always been firm.”
“I will resort to all legal avenues to expose this farce; to clear my name, in the face of the excesses of this corrupt group and corrupting, is one of my first objectives. We are not, and will never be equal!
For its part, Gerardo Fernandez Norona, President of Morena in the Senate, described the incident as a “foolish maneuver” by the opposition, and even political revenge.
Despite the new arrest warrant against the elected senator, Javier Corral, and after the PAN will challenge the multi-member senate seat of the former governor of Chihuahua, for having a valid arrest warrant and being declared a fugitive from justice in that entity, said complaint was dismissed,
In view of this, the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Court of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) confirmed the assignment of plurinominal senate seats to the aforementioned, as well as to Ricardo Anaya and Lilly Téllez. Javier Corral was sworn in at the Senate on Thursday.
