Thibaut Pinot has had to withdraw from the Tour Poitou-Charentes in New Aquitaine after suffering a fall less than 90km from the finish line. Bad luck struck the runner this Wednesday, August 23, during the second stage of the race, leaving Bressuire without the presence of one of the most prominent competitors.

The event occurred at the start of Château-Bourdin, when the runners were running just under 90 km from the finish line. After the incident, Thibaut Pinot was unable to continue on the bike and was forced to withdraw from the competition. His sports director was present to assist the cyclist and provide the necessary support at this difficult time.

The Tour Poitou-Charentes in New Aquitaine 2023 continues its development, but without the presence of the French. It may be that this was his last race in French territory and that depending on his recovery, we will have him back with a number placed in the last monument of the year, which would also be the last monument in which Pinot participates before his retirement.

For now, we will remain attentive to the news on the health and condition of the cyclist, hoping for his speedy recovery and possible return to future competitions.
