Strengthening parenting and adequately responding to the needs of minors’ growth are the macro objectives of the projects in favor of families that the Veneto Region has entrusted to the Social Territorial Areas and on which the ATS Ven_04 is working with commitment.
«The next month of September promises to be extremely interesting for the families of the Alto Vicentino area in this respect for various paths and initiatives ready to start with the concrete implementation phase or with the opening of calls for tenders and rankings – explains Anna Maria SavioCouncilor for Social Policies of Thiene, the leading municipality of the ATS Fri_04 -. This is a real Plan for Family Policies that we are building and that is already full of concrete proposals”.
With Fragile Families and Family Factor, the ATS intervenes in particular to support the family and birth rate as provided for by regional law 20/2020.
Fragile families it sets itself as mission the desire to support single-parent or large families or those with orphaned children, by combining a financial contribution with a project aimed at supporting the role of parents in the complex task of raising their children and developing cohesion and inclusion within the educational community.
This has led the Office to organize laboratory and experiential activities for the beneficiaries of the contribution, with the number of participants tripling between 2022 and 2023. This year’s contribution applications were 526 with an increase of approximately 10% compared to last year and, based on the regional allocation, the actual beneficiaries are 269.
The results of the ranking have been published and can be consulted at the link of the family desk of the Municipality of Thiene (https://www.sportellofamigliathiene.it/2024/famiglie-fragili-2023/). We are currently collecting applications for the activities starting next September.
Con Family factor From September 1st to October 15th, parents with children in the 0-3 age group, who attended early childhood education services accredited by the Veneto Region in the 2023-2024 educational year, will be able to request a financial contribution according to the methods available on the family desk page of the Municipality of Thiene and in the notice available in the Municipalities.
Neuroscience studies have in recent years underlined the importance of the time window of the first three years of life in child development and a concrete response to this evidence comes from Regional call for proposals “1,000 DAYS OF US. Interventions to support parenting in the care of boys and girls in the first three years of life”.
The interventions foreseen by this Call will start in September, in our territory called “Families In…Course – ATS VEN_04″: meetings are planned on parenting and specifically on the well-being of mothers, the co-responsibility of fathers, parenting in multiculturalism, caregivers and the impact with difficulties in the growth path of children.
It will be an occasion in which public and private services will collaborate in synergy to experiment with innovative intervention models to support the family also in the medium/long term and the psycho-physical well-being of children from 0 to 3 years, also through measures of family coaching aimed at strengthening the offer of services. Family well-being is finally at the centre of the Together Call: schools and municipal social services will involve families in the area with children attending lower secondary school in taking part in educational activities that are functional to responding to their educational and growth needs and to address situations of vulnerability. These activities will constitute a real catalog of services and will be carried out by Third Sector Entities and freelancers, selected among those who by September 6th will present an expression of interest as indicated in the relevant Public Notice published on the website of the Municipality of Thiene.
The Councilor underlines Anna Maria Savio: «In this historical period so complexcharacterized by a kaleidoscope of family systems, even through these projects we want supportere parenting skills e accompany the couple in their life path which is not always linear. Helping parenthood means promote well-being of the whole family and offer opportunities to future generations.”
