A 67-year-old man choked today (Tuesday) while eating a donut in the city of Bnei Brak.

Rescuers who were called to the scene gave him medical treatment and performed CPR on him – at the end of which, unfortunately, his death was determined.

MDA emergency medic Yoel Schechter: “When we arrived at the scene, we saw the man lying unconscious, while CPR was being performed on him. We saw a piece of donut near him and we were told that he choked while eating it.

“We continued the medical treatment and performed advanced and prolonged resuscitation operations during which we removed pieces of donut dough from his throat with the help of medical equipment. Unfortunately, in the end we had to determine his death.”

On Monday, two men choked while eating a donut: in a nursing home in Netanya, a 70-year-old man choked on a donut and died at the Laniado Medical Center in Kiryat Sanz. In Ofakim, a 61-year-old man is admitted in serious condition as he is sedated and ventilated to ‘Soruka’.
