DISPATCH – Tejay Fletcher, 35, was sentenced today to 13 years and four months in prison by British justice. His crime? Being the founder of the “iSpoof” site, which allowed anyone to pose as representatives of major banks by displaying trustworthy telephone numbers (banks, tax offices or official bodies), and thus extract valuable information…

In total, the damage created by this system is estimated at 115 million euros, for more than 200,000 victims worldwide. He would have pocketed between 1.7 and 1.9 million pounds sterling, and would thus have become accustomed to a perfectly correct lifestyle, a clever mix of travel and luxury.

As the report Voice of the North, “the site was dismantled last November during an international operation, which resulted in the arrest of 142 suspects.” The vast majority of them were arrested in the UK, in a gigantic anti-fraud operation led by British police. Later, the number of people suspected of taking advantage of the site rose to 169.

“We are proud to have put incapacitated the criminals at the head of this network, heartless people determined to facilitate fraud on an industrial scale, ruining the lives of many victims”, welcomed the London Police Chief Mark Rowley.
