Tirupati: Following the opening of the gates of heaven on the eve of Vaikunda Ekadasi at the Thirumalai Ezhumalayan Temple, a large number of devotees paid obeisance yesterday.
Andhra Pradesh, Thirumalai Ezhumalayan Temple Ezhumalayan was awakened with an early morning turn yesterday and anointing ceremonies were held afterwards. The gates of heaven were opened at 2:00 am and pujas were conducted. In this, Thirumalai zealots, Devasthanam officials and others participated.

The procession was held yesterday morning. Sridevi Bhudevi Sameda Malayappa Swami awoke in front of the Ezhumalayan Temple and served the devotees. The women first grabbed the rope and started pulling the golden tortoise which matched the feature of Mahalakshmi. Then the Devasthanam officials, staff and devotees pulled the tortoise rope together.
VIPs
During the Vaikunda Ekadasi, a large number of VIPs visited the Thirumalai Ezhumalayana and passed through the gates of heaven. Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ramana, Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Prasanth Kumar Misra and Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court Satish Chandra Sharma visited Ezhumalayana yesterday.
Decoration
The Ezhumalayan Temple was adorned with flowers, fruits and lamps to mark Vaikunda Ekadasi.
Introduced in 10 days
Thirumalai Tirupati Devasthanam, in association with a Coimbatore-based company, is producing Panchakavya products, which are planned to be introduced to devotees during Vaikunda Ekadasi. However, due to delays in production, the products will be marketed in Tirumala in 10 days, the temple said.
