jpnn.com – CILACAP – Awaluddin Muuri chose to resign from his position as Acting (Pj) Regent of Cilacap and state civil servant (ASN) in order to advance in the 2024 Cilacap Pilkada.
Awaluddin stated that he had submitted a letter of resignation.
“My candidacy will continue according to the applicable rules. My resignation as Acting Regent has been submitted because the latest date is July 17,” said Awaluddin in Karangrena Village, Maos, Cilacap, Central Java, Tuesday (23/7).
He said that according to the provisions, an acting regional head who wants to run in the regional elections must submit his resignation from the position to the Minister of Home Affairs.
According to him, the resignation letter is still being processed at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Central Java Provincial Government and the Cilacap Regency DPRD.
Furthermore, he said, the Cilacap Regency DPRD will propose the name to be appointed as the Acting Regent of Cilacap until the inauguration of the definitive regent resulting from the 2024 Cilacap Pilkada.
“Wait, while the process is still ongoing, before the inauguration of the Acting Regent of Cilacap, I will still serve as Acting Regent,” he said.
When asked about the political party that would nominate him in the 2024 Cilacap Pilkada, Awaluddin was reluctant to comment clearly.
