Pankaj Ghatge and Amrita Shinde have left their comfortable life and good jobs in the city and are providing employment to people in tribal areas!

Pankaj earlier worked for an advertising company in Mumbai, and Amrita was also a teacher. Once when they visited a village in Nashik, they saw that the people in this tribal village did not have any permanent work.

With the intention of providing employment to the villagers, Pankaj and Amrita bought 3 acres of land and started giving employment to the local people by making things like soap, honey and earthen pots here. But this did not bring any significant change!

So in 2018, Pankaj left his job and decided to build a farm stay here with the help of these local people.

To make this, he used only natural things found nearby.

During Corona, Amrita also left her job and settled in the village and helped in decorating this traditional Tumdar house.

Today, many people from nearby cities like Mumbai and Pune come to this beautiful homestay surrounded by valleys and ponds to experience living close to nature, which is not available in the city.

Because of this farm stay of Pankaj and Amrita, many villagers are now getting regular employment. Today, people from many families of the village work in Awata Farm Stay.

This effort of Pankaj and Amrita to leave the comfortable urban life and think about the village people and create new opportunities for them is really commendable!
