What if the water consumption in agriculture is reduced by 40% and the yield increases by 15%? Narayan Lal Gurjar, son of a farmer father from Rajasthan, has made this amazing invention, he has created an organic polymer.

Once in his childhood, due to water scarcity, his father’s entire corn crop was destroyed. The family also had to face a lot of financial difficulties. From then on, Narayan started looking for a solution to the water problem. He says, “My father at that time told me to study further in such a way that we can find a solution to our water problem.”
Although there are facilities like Drip Irrigation and Sprinkler, what will the farmer do where there is no water? After doing a lot of research, Narayan came to know about Polymer Fertilizer. But all the Polymer Fertilizers available in the market were chemical based. In such a situation, Narayan decided to find its organic alternative.

In this way, he continued researching for about three years and then after three years he found out that organic polymers can be made from the pectin present in orange peels. He got his organic polymer tested at Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture in Udaipur and along with his studies, he started a startup named Fasal Amrit Organic Fertilizer.

Today, his Organic Polymer made from orange peels is certified in India as well as Japan and is being used by 30000 farmers across the world. Narayan’s invention proves that nature has the solution to every problem of farming, the only need is to find an eco-friendly alternative instead of chemicals. If you also agree, then definitely share the story.
