Donald Trump’s granddaughter Kai gave an emotional speech about her grandfather at the Republican National Convention. This is what is known about the 17-year-old.
Former US President Donald Trump wants to be re-elected as head of state of the USA in 2024. As part of the Republican Party Convention, the “Grand Old Party” is apparently trying to present the entrepreneur and politician in the most approachable way possible. Kai Trump, the eldest granddaughter of the former president, gave a speech on stage in which she painted the picture of a loving grandfather.
“Hello everyone, my name is Kai Madison Trump. I am the granddaughter of Donald Trump,” the 17-year-old opened her speech, as can be seen in excerpts circulating on X.
Kai was born in May 2007 and is the eldest daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump, who have been divorced since 2018. Kai Trump has four siblings: Donald John, Tristan Milos, Spencer Frederick and Chloe Sophia.
Not much is known about her private life, but around nine months ago the teenager announced on Instagram that she was thinking about becoming a professional golfer. She had shown an interest in the sport when she was just two years old. Her account, on which she mainly shares golf content, is already followed by more than 165,000 people. In March, Kai also published a picture there showing her with her grandfather Donald after she had, according to her, won a golf tournament.
She seems to have a good relationship with the 78-year-old. In her public speech, Kai Trump explained that she was speaking at the party convention “to share the side of my grandfather that people don’t often see. To me, he’s just a normal grandpa.” Donald Trump always gives her and the other grandchildren candy when their parents aren’t looking – and he always wants to know how things are going at school.
In her white dress, the young woman made it unmistakably clear that she is also a Trump. When she is golfing, she doesn’t let her grandfather drive her crazy, which always surprises him: “But I have to remind him that I am also a Trump.” Donald Trump is “a great inspiration” and she loves him. According to his granddaughter, the media portray the ex-president in a false light. But she knows the real Donald Trump: “He is very caring and loving.” And of course the controversial politician only wants the best for the USA.
