Since singer Ryan Castro and producer SOG published the song in tribute to the Colombian National Team, it has become a success on social networks and music platforms, registering more than 35.5 million views, between YouTube and Spotify. The song, which features two players from the national team, was released about a month ago, on June 8.

It was launched on the same day Colombia played a friendly against the United States team, which they won five goals to one. On the same day, messages on social networks began to emphasize the football level of the national team and hope was helped to foster the sounds of the song “The rhythm that unites us”, which includes different genres such as reggaeton, rap, cumbia and the music of Peace.

One of the sounds that stand out the most is the sound of the honey flute, made by the Barranquilla musician Tato Marenco, who has already performed with this instrument in the song “La Bicicleta” by Carlos Vives and Shakira. The musician was included after the managers of the Colombian National Team called Ryan Castro and SOG to create a song in honor of the team, as the product revealed to Infobae.

“The Confederation wanted to create a new identity within the Colombian team and they wanted to make a song. They asked the players what rhythm they wanted or wanted, and some of them mentioned Ryan Castro and SOG, who wanted an urban song,” SOG told Infobae, where they also said they told the managers that they wanted to incorporate some players on the subject, who had the notion of music because of the short period I had to publish it.

“They recommended Juanfer and Lucho, we traveled to Barranquilla, I took my set to the hotel. The boys went to record and it was a very nice experience, because Juanfer already had a few songs and we knew that side. But hearing Lucho rapping was a big surprise. He did well and even told us that he has his studio and that he likes to make songs as a hobby,” the Antioquian producer told the media.

Lucho Díaz’s rap

One of the most surprising things about this song is precisely the participation of Luis Díaz and Juan Fernando Quintero doing a chanteo. ‘Quinterito’ had previously been talked about for his relationship with music, but little or nothing was known about ‘Lucho’. According to SOG himself, he and Ryan Castro were surprised when the Liverpool player told them that he also had a taste for music.

El Espectador had already published an interview with the recent Red Bull Colombia Battle 2024 national champion, Juan Camilo Ballesteros Bermúdez, known as Valles-T, in which he referred to Díaz’s interest in rap. “I was very impressed with what he did with Ryan Castro. We’ve talked a few times and I know he really likes the music stuff and I think it’s really cool that he does something that I also know he likes a lot. It seems brutal to me to see them involved in the story. In Medellín he told me that he likes to compose,” he said.

Previously, this medium had also published a genealogical trace regarding his father ‘Mane’ Díaz, who was an amateur musician in his youth and who belongs to the Vallenato dynasty of the “Díaz”, which diversified in the south of La Guajira, á. a close relative of several famous musicians in the genre. In this way, ‘Lucho’ is the second nephew of the singer Adaniés Díaz, the second cousin of the new wave singer ‘Churo’ Díaz and the fourth cousin of the famous vallenato minister Leandro Díaz.
