The national players including Jamal Musiala are currently still on vacation. But they will soon have to return to their club.
FC Bayern started preparations for the coming season on Wednesday. In addition to new coach Vincent Kompany, 14 other coaches and support staff were on the pitch. 18 players, including young professionals, took part in the training. However, with German internationals Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané and Joshua Kimmich, at least five players are still missing in the red jersey.
Because of the European Championship, some stars are currently enjoying their vacation. However, a return to the German record champions is apparently imminent. According to “Bild”, the players who were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the tournament are expected on the trip to South Korea (July 31 to August 4).
According to the report, at least four DFB stars are expected to return to the team. Only Sané will have a longer break after his pubic bone operation. Matthijs de Ligt (Netherlands), Dayot Upamecano, Kingsley Coman (both France) and Harry Kane (England) will be allowed to join later, according to the paper; all four were in the European Championship semi-finals last week.
Every player is entitled to three weeks’ holiday, as Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund recently confirmed in a conversation about Kane: “It was also a very, very long season for Harry, he will also get the three weeks’ holiday that every player gets.”
