For many years Yitzhak Klepter was a man of the vehicles. He began his career in the Churchills, and later was a member of the Apocalypse Band, Beehive and a trio of tuned sounds. Only in 1981 after a decade of playing and writing for others (including Arik Einstein, The Sixteenth Lamb, Gidi Gov, Arik Sinai and Gali Atari), did he record his first album simply called “Yitzhak”, which carried many hits, the most notable of which was “My love is not His Love “written by Jonathan Geffen to Klepter’s melody.
The acquaintance between the two began four years earlier, when Klepter joined Geffen’s show “Salon Conversations,” which he ran in those days. Klepter co-wrote the same program for songs such as “Green Island at Sea” and “Bedouin Love Song”, and later composed Geffen’s song “I Love” for the monumental children’s album “The Sixteenth Lamb”. “My love is not his love” was another step in the fruitful collaboration between Geffen and Klepter.
Tonight, Shlomo Bar Abba, Gidi Gov, Dubla Glickman, Moni Moshonov and Avi Kushnir will perform a remake of the song as part of the program “This is it” which will be broadcast tonight at 21:10 on Here 11.
