The 37th government of the State of Israel, headed by Netanyahu for the sixth time, was sworn in yesterday (Thursday). Some of the ministerial positions were closed just minutes before the presentation of the government composition in the Knesset plenum, including the appointment of Eli Cohen as Foreign Minister and of Israel Katz as Energy Minister.

Besides Netanyahu, 29 ministers were sworn in at the plenum, and their number is expected to expand to 31 with the planned appointments of Gila Gamaliel (Likud) to the Minister of Intelligence, an appointment that was decided upon after the Knesset plenum had already voted on the composition of the government without Gamaliel, and of MK Meir Proosh to the Minister of Jerusalem and Traditions. After it was split from the current Jerusalem and Heritage Ministry.
