Pongal, a traditional festival of Tamils, was held at the Puducherry Governor’s House. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister Rangasamy, Speaker Selvam, all Ministers, Members of Legislative Assembly, Chief Secretary and top police officers participated in this.
During the Pongal festival, women spread jaggery in a decorated Pongal pot and set Pongal. Events such as traditional Uri beating, village dance, karakattam and tappattam were held. They paraded around the Governor’s House chanting Pongalo Pongal on decorated bullock carts and celebrated the festival of Pongal.
Following this, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, who interviewed the media, said, “The G20 conference will be held in India to make the country proud. The first meeting is being held in Puducherry. Therefore, it has been organized as the G20 Pongal festival.” In response to the question raised by reporters about the increase in milk prices, “All the plans are for the people to be happy.” “It is being implemented.
