ZYON Cascos is the new Spanish brand that has developed a motorcycle helmet designed to protect against air pollution and allergies thanks to a patented filtering technology known as Breath Safe System. In addition to taking care of the health of users, the company marks a milestone in safety as it integrates a MIPS shock absorption system, which is a technology that offers greater safety in the event of an accident, an active rear light and intelligent connectivity, which monitors the helmet’s status, its filters and user activity through an app.
ZYON Casco was born in Spain in 2022, precisely in Madrid, and is aimed at a global market, with the aim of being distributed by the end of 2025. The idea came from one of its founders, the industrial engineer Tanguy Uzel , passionate about motorcycles and who suffered the effects of pollution during travel on a daily basis. Furthermore, he noticed the lack of innovation in motorcycle helmets and decided to team up with the brand’s co-founder, Guzmán Colilla, also founder of The Crown Creators, a well-known marketing agency in motorsports. Together they join forces to create ZYON with the aim of revolutionizing the motorcycle helmet market.
«Air pollution is one of the main causes of death in the world and motorcyclists are the most exposed users in cities, traveling without protection on traffic roads and behind other vehicles. In numbers you are up to 100 times more exposed than motorists who have filters in the cabin. The motorcycle helmet market is an industry that has shown very little dynamism over the last decade in terms of innovation and technology. With the launch of ZYON we intend to take a step forward with a product that not only takes care of the health of users, but also pioneers the safety it offers thanks to its shock absorption technology and intelligent connectivity,” he comments. Tanguy Uzelco-founder and CEO of the company.
The helmet is now available for pre-order through its website and it is at the end of 2025 when the official sale of the product is launched on the market both in its e-commerce and in a network of associated stores in Europe.
ZYON Casco breaks trends with a modular helmet that is committed to improving the quality of life of urban motorcyclists and that combats exposure to pollutants and allergens, improving their long-term health. This is possible thanks to the patented Breath Safe System advanced filtration technology with interchangeable filters which ensures the user can breathe clean air.
On the other hand, its MIPS (Multidirection Impact Protection System) impact technology reduces rotational forces during crashes and its integrated rear light improves the rider’s visibility, increasing safety. To extend the useful life of the product, the helmet is equipped with an integrated chip and sensors that connect to an app that monitors the state of the helmet and filters it, alerting the user of any changes and ensuring maximum protection.
– What other safety features are included in the ZYON Casco besides air purification?
Title: A Breath of Fresh Air: An Interview with Tanguy Uzel, Co-Founder of ZYON Casco
Interviewer: Good day, Tanguy! Thank you for joining us today. Your new helmet, the ZYON Casco, sounds incredibly promising. Could you start by telling us what inspired you to create this innovative product?
Tanguy Uzel: Thank you for having me! The inspiration came from my personal experiences as a motorcycle rider in Madrid. I noticed the profound effects of air pollution on my health and the general lack of innovation in motorcycle helmets. One day while navigating through heavy traffic, it struck me how motorcyclists like me are particularly vulnerable—not just to accidents but to the harmful effects of pollution. That was when I realized there had to be a better way to protect ourselves.
Interviewer: It sounds like you identified a significant gap in the market. Can you explain how the Breath Safe System works and what makes it different from traditional helmets?
Tanguy Uzel: Certainly! The Breath Safe System is a patented filtering technology that actively purifies the air you breathe while riding. Unlike traditional helmets that offer no protection against air pollutants, our system integrates advanced filters that significantly reduce exposure to harmful particles. This is critical because, as studies show, motorcyclists are up to 100 times more exposed to air pollution compared to car drivers who benefit from filtration systems in their vehicles.
Interviewer: That’s fascinating! It’s not just the filtering capability that sets your helmet apart, though. I understand it also incorporates MIPS technology and smart connectivity. Can you tell us about those features?
Tanguy Uzel: Absolutely! We wanted to create a helmet that not only protects the rider from air pollution but also enhances safety during accidents. The MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is designed to reduce rotational forces on the brain in the event of an impact. Additionally, we include an active rear light for enhanced visibility and intelligent connectivity through an app, which monitors the helmet’s status, filter conditions, and user activity. This holistic approach to safety is truly revolutionary for the industry.
Interviewer: It sounds like you’re targeting a global market with an eye on the future. Can you share your vision for ZYON Casco and how you plan to achieve worldwide distribution by 2025?
Tanguy Uzel: Our vision is to become a leader in innovative safety gear for motorcyclists worldwide. By the end of 2025, we aim to have ZYON Casco widely distributed, not just in Spain but across various international markets. We’re focusing on strategic partnerships with retailers and enhancing our marketing efforts, leveraging my co-founder Guzmán Colilla’s expertise in motorsports marketing. We believe that with the right strategies and a commitment to quality and safety, we can achieve this goal.
Interviewer: You’ve certainly laid out a comprehensive plan. What message do you want to convey to motorcyclists regarding the importance of air quality and safety?
Tanguy Uzel: I want to emphasize that air pollution is an urgent environmental and health issue that affects everyone, especially motorcyclists who are directly exposed. Riders deserve the best protection possible—in every sense. At ZYON, we’re not just selling helmets; we’re promoting a healthier, safer riding experience. It’s time for riders to demand more from their gear and choose products that prioritize their health and safety in urban environments.
Interviewer: Thank you, Tanguy. It’s inspiring to see innovation that addresses both safety and health, especially for those who love to ride. We look forward to seeing how ZYON Casco evolves in the coming years!
Tanguy Uzel: Thank you for the opportunity! We’re excited for the journey ahead and committed to making a difference for riders everywhere.
