Tumor or neoplasia is the name given to diseases in which there is a growth or alteration in the cells of the tissues and that produces an increase in their volume and they are divided into malignant or benign tumors.

Malignant neoplasms are all those diseases in which there are abnormal cells that multiply uncontrollably and invade nearby tissues. These cells can spread to other parts of the body through the bloodstream and lymphatic system.

Globally, in 2020 there were 15 million new cases of malignant tumors

Globally, according to World Cancer Report, the incidence of malignant tumors could increase by 50% until last year 2020, in which it was determined that 15 million new cases would occur. In the year 2000, malignant tumors were the cause of 12% of the nearly 56 million deaths worldwide from all causes.

The proportion of deaths went to 13.1%
