Günther Jauch and his Thea got married on July 7, 2006. But they rarely appear together in public.

The two have been together for more than 35 years. The sparks flew in 1988. But who is the woman who has been by the side of the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” star for so many years? Günther Jauch and Dorothea “Thea” Sihler met in the 1980s. She was working as a physiotherapist at the time, and he had already appeared in various TV shows.
The two became a couple in 1988. Günther Jauch was 32 years old, his Thea a year younger. But it was only after 18 years of being together that the presenter and the physiotherapist said “I do”. They sealed their love in the Church of Peace in Sanssouci on July 7, 2006. Today the couple is celebrating their turquoise wedding anniversary.
Even before Thea and Günther Jauch got married, they became parents of four children. The couple has two biological and two adopted daughters. Svenja, born in 1989, and Kristin, who is two years younger, are their biological children. In addition, the presenter and his wife adopted Katja, who was nine months old at the time, from an orphanage in Siberia in 1997. Three years later, they also took their daughter Mascha with them.
However, his four children are not in the spotlight. He only speaks about his daughters very rarely. There are no pictures of Svenja, Kristin, Katja and Mascha, and they have not yet appeared at events alongside their father. His wife Thea, however, is different. They were last seen together in November 2022. Günther Jauch was named “Winemaker of the Year” as the owner of the von Othegraven winery in Kanzem on the Saar. The presenter came to the awards ceremony accompanied by his wife.
Thea Jauch chose a rather understated look. She wore black trousers and a matching blouse. She combined this with a leopard-print belt and a striking silver chain. Her husband appeared in a blue corduroy pantsuit and a white shirt underneath.
The title means a lot to Günther Jauch. Shortly after the award ceremony, he told SWR: “I would give up three Bambis for this award in a heartbeat.” In 2001, the presenter received the Bambi for his quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” The 67-year-old still regularly appears on TV with the show today.
