This is what Skoda’s Vision 7S looks like: The Magnificent Seven

by time news

MWith the Vision 7S concept study, Skoda gives an outlook on its future top model and at the same time presents the brand’s new design language. The all-electric SUV with space for seven people is based on the Group’s modular electrification kit and boasts a length of 5.02 meters and a wheelbase of 3.08 meters. No Skoda model has ever been so stately. Before the series version of the 2026 flagship enters the stage, two more electric models will be launched to complement the Enyaq family. It will start in 2024 with an electrically powered compact SUV in Karoq format. A year later, a small electric car based on the Urban Rebel study from sister brand Cupra follows. The 89 kWh battery in the Vision 7S should enable a range of more than 600 kilometers, and the fast charging option of up to 200 kW promises short charging stops. There is no information yet on engine and performance data.

Reduced, clear lines characterize the study painted in matt green. With a distinctive design language that is aimed in a more robust direction, Skoda wants to differentiate itself more from the group brands VW, Seat and Cupra in the future. The powerful front bumper of the Vision 7S integrates seven upright air vents. Front and rear lights are arranged in a T-shape. Instead of the winged arrow emblem, the freshly designed Skoda lettering is emblazoned on the strongly formed hood. The vehicle sensors are hidden in the black-tinted polycarbonate pane of the grille, which is only indicated. It is questionable whether the production version will appear without B-pillars and with doors that open in opposite directions.

For the Magnificent Seven

The operating concept of the show car, which does not rely exclusively on digitization and combines a 14.6-inch, vertically arranged touchscreen monitor with rotary controls for the air conditioning and other physical buttons, has a better chance of being implemented. Sustainable materials dominate the spacious interior of the electric SUV, which is actually a 6+1 seater.

Three rows accommodate two seats each. With the study, Skoda has the extended family in mind: in front of the second row, a baby seat is mounted on the center console against the direction of travel. This means that the youngest offspring is best protected in the safest place in the vehicle.
