Money does not buy happiness or so they say. However, asking for a salary increase is an idea that is on the minds of the majority of workers in our country in order to have a better quality of life. From Princeton University they estimated that the salary with which happiness is obtained is 75,000 dollars a year and after passing that threshold and covering all human needs, money is no longer so relevant. But, how many Spaniards receive this amount per year?
The Tax Agency publishes the monetary remuneration in its statistics of the Personal Income Tax (IRPF) filers, in which it is verified how much work income contributes. These are the latest data published in 2021 on the yield and attribution tranches:
What is the most common salary among Spaniards?
In the previous table it can be seen that the most common salary among Spaniards is the one between 12,000 and 21,000 euros per year. So much so that more than 4 million Spaniards receive that amount per year, so they represent 20.50% of the total number of filers.
How many Spaniards earn less than 12,000 euros?
More than 8 million inhabitants in our country earn less than 12,000 euros a year. If we consider it by sections, 14.84% would declare between 1,500 and 6,000 euros and 10.02% between 6,000 and 12,000 euros.
How many Spaniards earn more than 30,000 euros?
In Spain, some 5.4 million inhabitants earn more than 30,000 euros per year. Of the totality, the majority are earning figures between 30,000 and 60,00 euros a year, since more than 4.4 million Spaniards have a salary included in this range.
How many Spaniards earn more than 60,000 euros?
In Spain, 4.73% of the taxpayers obtain an income that exceeds 60,000 euros, so much so that more than a million inhabitants would earn more than that salary per year. Of the total of these people, the majority –906,910 of them– would be concentrated in the section that earns between 60,000 and 150,000 euros per year.
How many Spaniards earn more than 150,000 euros?
135,492 inhabitants are the ones who earn the most per year, since they have a salary that exceeds 150,000 euros in Spain, that is, they represent 0.62% of taxpayers. Of these, 12,178 people exceed an income of 601,000 euros per year.
