This is what the weather will be like in Guatemala from September 9 to 15, 2024

He National Institute of Seismology, Volcanology, Meteorology and Hydrology —Insivumeh— has issued its weather forecast for Guatemala for the week of September 9-15, 2024. During these days, meteorological conditions are influenced by atmospheric pressure and cyclonic activity in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

The week will begin with the influence of low atmospheric pressure, which will favor the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean and moderate winds from the south.

Insivumeh points out that, although Tropical Storm Francine, located in the Gulf of Mexico, will not directly affect Guatemala, it will keep the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) approaching the Pacific coast of Guatemala, which, together with daytime warming and the country’s orography, will cause, from the beginning to the middle of the week, the development of cloudiness with rain and electrical activity from early afternoon until night.

These precipitations could be moderate to heavy, accompanied by strong gusts of wind. A slight increase in atmospheric pressure is expected for the weekend, which will cause the winds to shift to a northerly direction. In addition, the rains could decrease in some regions of the country, which will cause an increase in temperature.
