HBO Max has announced this Tuesday a price increase for its subscribers in Spain from July. The content platform has sent an email to all subscribers with the new prices that they will have to pay from now on, although the change will take effect on the 13th of next month.
As they have detailed in the emails, the standard monthly subscription, which until now cost 8,99 euros, will rise in price to 9.99 euros (one euro more). Regarding subscribers who have a 50% discount for life they will go from paying 4.49 per month to 4.99 eurossince the price goes up fifty cents.
“50% promotion discount forever will continue as long as your HBO Max subscription is active and you continue to meet the conditions of the promotional offer. The 50% discount will be applied to the new subscription price (9.99 euros per month)”, explained the platform of streaming.
HBO has also given explanations about the reason for this rise, which is the first for the platform since its launch in Spain. “We raised the monthly price in light of increases in acquisition costscontent creation and product development, to allow us to continue investing in quality content and the product experience that we strive to provide our customers,” they have justified this increase in their statement to subscribers.
