jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Biak Numfor DPRD member Jhon Nehemia Mandibo expressed his support to Dr. Filep Wamafma, SH. M.Hum to run as a candidate for governor of Papua for the 2024-2029 period.
Jhon said Filep Wamafma was one of the best sons from Biak Numfor who had proven to have contributed a lot to the land of Papua.
Filep Wamafma currently serves as Chairman of Committee I DPD RI from West Papua for the 2019-2024 period and was re-elected as Senator in the 2024-2029 Legislative Election.
“Mr Filep Wamafma is known to be active and has had a big influence in the birth of various affirmative policies for the OAP community in Papua. He aggressively fights for the basic rights of OAP in all sectors, especially education, health, political representation of OAP and the empowerment of indigenous communities. “We all know that this sector is very fundamentally needed for our society,” said Jhon Mandibo in a statement received, Sunday (10/3/2024).
According to Jhon, currently Senator Filep is also trusted as Chair of the DPD RI Election Fraud Special Committee to ensure quality democracy.
He said that Senator Filep’s actions to date have shown that he actively contributes and is responsive to various issues and complaints from the community from regional to national levels.
“This is proof of the very high role and dedication of a native Papuan (Senator Filep,” said Jhon.
Furthermore, John Mandibo said that Filep Wamafma’s big role in the DPD RI has been widely proven.
