jpnn.com – JAKARTA – Political observer Jerry Massie assesses that Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) are reliable mentors for Prabowo Subianto as president-elect in the 2024 presidential election.
The executive director of Political and Public Policy Studies (P3S) explained that Jokowi and SBY were highly respected and admired by world leaders.
“Prabowo has another reliable mentor besides Jokowi, namely the Sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono, both of whom are highly respected and admired by world leaders,” said Jerry Massie in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/5).
Jerry stated that this was related to President Jokowi introducing Prabowo Subianto as president-elect during a meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his successor, Deputy PM Lawrence Wong, at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Tuesday (30/4).
According to Jerry, Jokowi’s steps to introduce Prabowo to leaders of other countries were very good. Apart from making Prabowo’s future work easier. “Introducing Jokowi is also good, especially since this is a period of transition of power from Jokowi to Prabowo,” he said.
He said that Prabowo was a former Kopassus Commander, had good relations with several heads of state, which made it easier for him to communicate on the international stage.
Interestingly, he continued, Prabowo’s closeness to this world leader was proven when he received congratulations from various heads of state in Asia, Europe and the superpower United States.
