– This or nothing / Bodø/Glimt

by time news

A lot has happened in four years

Since Håkon Evjen left for AZ Alkmaar, both he and Bodø/Glimt have continued their development. Glimt have become league champions three times and gained a lot of international experience. Evjen herself says the following about her own development;

– I have learned an incredible amount. I played with and against many exciting players and teams. There have been an incredible number of cool experiences. I could probably stay out and try to chase game time. It probably could have gone well, but it feels more right to come home and play football for a city like Bodø. The teammates and coaches here are absolutely fantastic.

And even though Glimt has also developed, the Narvik native is confident that he knows the system so well that he will slide well into the old club.

– I think it will go quite well. I have seen quite a few matches and know Kjetil’s system quite well from before. There is still a lot to learn, but I can’t wait to see where it goes.

Evjen also got a small taste of Bodø/Glimt two years ago when he stood on the opposite side of the pitch in the round of 16 final in the Conference League. That match ended in defeat for Evjen and AZ Alkmaar after Alfons Sampsted decided in extra time in the Netherlands.

– It was incredibly special to come home that time. Even though it was a penalty that shouldn’t have been a penalty, Bodø/Glimt were incredibly good, says Evjen with a small smile.

Have wanted for a long time

– I have wanted to be part of a team like that for a very long time, there is little that beats that.

Glimt took silver in the Eliteserien in 2019, the same year Evjen had his big breakthrough in the Eliteserien. He is best remembered for his playing technique, and eventually also became a feared goalscorer.
