This red drink lowers blood pressure like medicines.. What is it?

by time news

High blood pressure is a precursor to heart disease, so it is necessary to control it by eating a healthy, balanced diet.

In this regard, it was found that consuming hibiscus tea causes similar decreases to those of blood pressure medications, according to what was reported by the British “Express”.

Several studies have also pointed to the benefits of drinking this red drink, and researchers have confirmed that hibiscus exerts stronger effects on systolic blood pressure than a placebo, with the ‘volume’ of the decrease being greater in those with high blood pressure at baseline.

The researchers found that hibiscus significantly lowered levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) compared to other teas.

Also, the researchers concluded that “regular consumption of hibiscus can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Further studies are warranted to determine an effective dose response and duration of treatment.”

All adults over the age of 40 are advised to have their blood pressure checked at least every five years.

Hibiscus is widely cultivated in many African countries and Southeast Asia, where it is usually consumed as a hot or cold tea drink.
