Tropical Storm Beryl brings rain and strong winds to Mexico

At 06:00 hours, Central Mexico time, the center of Beryl was located 255 kilometers northwest of Celestún, Yucatán; with maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h, gusts of 110 km/h and moving east-northwest at 19 km/h.

Heavy rains
In addition to Tropical Storm Beryl, heavy rains are forecast in parts of Chiapas; very heavy rains in regions of Chihuahua, Durango, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, Puebla, Sinaloa, Sonora and Tabasco; heavy rains in parts of Colima, the State of Mexico, Guerrero, Morelos and Oaxaca; periods of showers in Mexico City, Coahuila, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tlaxcala and Zacatecas; and scattered rains in Baja California and Baja California Sur.
Winds with gusts of 40 to 60 km/h and dust storms are expected in Baja California, Chihuahua and Sonora, as well as gusts of 30 to 50 km/h with possible dust storms in Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas.
These meteorological conditions will be caused by low pressure channels in the interior of the country, in combination with upper atmospheric instability and the proximity of the monsoon trough to the southern Mexican Pacific.
