At 09:40 hours this Friday, August 23, the third day of formalization against began Luis Hermosilla and Leonarda Villaloboswho are charged with tax crimes, bribery and money laundering within the framework of the Audios Case.
In this context, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is requesting preventive detention for the aforementioned lawyers and for Villalobos’ partner, Luis Angulo, whose precautionary measure will be announced next week, according to the judge’s planning. Mariana Leyton.
The above, because this Friday the presentation of the Prosecutor’s Office ended and the presentation of the three complainants in the case was given: the State Defense Council (CDE)he Internal Revenue Service (SII) and the representation of the deputies Daniel Manouchehri and Daniella Cicardini.
The arguments of the Prosecutor’s Office for the precautionary measure and the sentence that Hermosilla and Villalobos risk
Prosecutor Lorena Parra presented the reasons for the Public Ministry to request preventive detention, stating that “The freedom of the accused is dangerous for the security of society“.
Along these lines, he recalled a conversation between the renowned criminal lawyer and Daniel Sauer to support the idea of an “imminent risk of flight” of the accused. This, because faced with the risk that someone would report him, Sauer assured Hermosilla that he should leave the country.

“In the audio, Mr. Hermosilla says because here we are doing something stupid that is a crime. And Villalobos answers, This is a crime. They are lawyers, they know what they are talking about. There is no doubt about it, the magistrate can only order preventive detention.”Parra added.
In addition, the prosecutor stated that the sentences that the lawyers risk are 18 years of effective prison.
“For Mr. Hermosilla and Mrs. Villalobos, due to procedural economy, in the best case scenario they would be sentenced to 10 years and one day for repeated bribery, for money laundering with the minimum, three years and one day, this without exercising Article 69, and for tax crimes also with the minimum of five years and one day,” the prosecutor explained.
Leonarda Villalobos’ fainting
During a break in the formalization of the Audios Case, Leonarda Villalobos fainted. Given this situation, Alejandra Edgethe defendant’s lawyer, asked the judge to suspend the hearing, arguing that her client had hit her head “quite hard.”
Faced with this, the judge did not accept his request and authorized Villalobos to leave the courtroom to go to a health facility.

The High Complexity Prosecutor, Miguel Ángel Orellana, exposed conversations between Hermosilla and Villalobos to support the connection between both in various crimes.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the lawyer would also be involved in the bribery crimes that Villalobos would have carried out and that the lawyer would also have made payments to obtain information about the clients that Hermosilla had, as is the case of Tonka Tomicic.
At the time of the conversation, Hermosilla was representing Tomicic in the Relojes case, where the television host appears as a defendant along with Parived for alleged crimes of illicit association, customs receipt of goods, receipt of goods and tax crimes.

After that, the SII representative assured that the investigation into the Audios Case is “a pandora’s box” and that there are still proceedings to be carried out. “Here, with each element that is being investigated, with each new inquiry, each new proceedings, each new statement made by a witness, new elements are being created and discovered. He added: “The conduct committed by the accused Luis Hermosilla, in the dialogues with Luis Angulo, is particularly serious. First, they generated fictitious losses. They adulterated the accounting of a company. They used ideologically false invoices. This specifically with respect to the accused Angulo and Villalobos.”

When will formalization resume?
Following the presentation of the plaintiffs in the case, the third day of formalization ended. Thus, the hearing will resume on Next Monday, August 26th to give way to the defense of the accused.
