Five streets that have already been developed in the employment area of ​​Kfar Yona, located near the Hasharon intersection (Beit Lid) – will be named after pioneering women in the field of industry throughout the years of the existence of the State of Israel. The decision was approved by the city council, according to the proposal of the mayor, Shushi Kahlon Kidor.

The five are:

  • Ruth Dayan, who founded the fashion and textile company “Mishchit”.
  • Judith Richter, who together with her husband and other partners founded the Madinol company for the production and sale of supports, the “Medcon” company, for medical information management, and other companies.
  • Leah Gottlieb, an industrialist and fashion designer who founded with her husband the Gottex Israel swimwear factory, which gained a worldwide reputation.
  • Ida-Yehudit Zeidler, who managed the Wisotsky tea company, after the death of her husband, and catapulted it to the top.
  • Deborah Fischer, who, together with her husband, founded the Dr Fischer Enterprises complex Dr. Fisher. The two even won the Israeli Industry Award.

Those women brought their management skills to the fore, in an era when the managers were overwhelmingly men. The women’s families were moved and thanked for the gesture. Soon the municipality of Kfar Yona will hold a ceremony to inaugurate the streets.
