HBO Max raises its prices hbo

The American streaming platform HBO Max, owned by Warner, has announced that it will raise its prices in Spain, as well as in other European countries. The decision has been made, according to the company, to continue investing “in quality content and product experience”, after a long period of cost reduction and cuts in its production catalogue.

Price rise

The standard subscription price in Spain will therefore go from 8.99 euros to 9.99. That is to say, a euro will go up. As explained by HBO, this is the same increase that will be applied in the Nordic countries, but not in other countries such as Portugal or Bulgaria, where the fee will increase by two euros.

The new rate will begin to be applied as of this Tuesday to all new users of the platform, while old customers will not increase the price until July 13. Of course, HBO Max maintains its launch offer of 50% during the first months, although now you will have to pay 5 euros instead of 4.49.

As they explain from the platform, which has true mass phenomena such as ‘Game of Thrones’ or its prequel, ‘La Casa del Dragón’, those who are making use of an annual subscription or those who have contracted HBO Max through Vodafone will get rid of the price increase for now.
