jpnn.com – Thom Haye was blunt when he got an offer from Italian club Como 1907.

The offer came in January 2024. However, Como’s efforts to recruit the Indonesian national team midfielder hit a dead end.

SC Heerenveen, the club that owned Haye at the time, asked for an additional fee.

As a result, Como withdrew from the race to sign the 29-year-old.

“They (Como 1907, ed) switched to bringing in another midfielder,” said Thom Haye in an interview with ESPN.

“The fact that the club didn’t let me (go to Como) was quite painful,” he continued.

Furthermore, Haye felt disappointed that his move to Como was cancelled because pursuing a career outside the Netherlands was one of his dreams.

“It’s an absolute dream move (to play outside the Netherlands),” said Haye.
