On the occasion of Berlin Art Week, the Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome is opening an exhibition in collaboration with the artist Thomas Pöllmann. Around 25 of his large-format abstract oil paintings will be on display in the impressive rooms on the ground floor of the hotel. The exhibition, curated specifically for the Hotel de Rome, can be visited daily from September 17, 2023 to March 31, 2024. The show is not only aimed at hotel guests, but is also accessible free of charge to Berliners after registering at reception.
The exhibition in the hotel links art with sustainability. Like the Hotel de Rome, whose commitment was again awarded the seal of approval by the German Institute for Sustainability and Economics in 2023, Thomas Pöllmann also cares about nature and environmental protection. For this reason, he has initiated several art projects to reforest local forests over the last three years. Thanks to these campaigns, more than 4,000 new trees can currently be sustainably planted. Inspired by this success, Thomas Pöllmann is continuing the tradition at this exhibition at the Hotel de Rome: for every picture sold, five new trees are sustainably planted.
The Hotel de Rome lives contemporary art and regularly impresses with changing, unique exhibitions. Not least because of its central location on the historic Bebelplatz and therefore just a stone’s throw from the most beautiful museums and galleries, the five-star superior hotel is a popular destination for guests and visitors to the capital who are interested in art.

About Thomas Pöllmann
Thomas Pöllmann, born in 1969, grew up in Hochsauerland and moved to Berlin in 1995. He became interested in rooms and their furnishings from an early age. He always keeps an eye on the room as a whole. In addition to colors and shapes, energies and their qualities play an important role. According to the motto, “Designing a room well is actually quite easy, you just need a few nice pieces of furniture and, above all, good art,” he advises customers and designs rooms at home and abroad.
In addition to sketching and watercolor painting, he has devoted himself intensively to abstract painting for several years. His travels are an important source of inspiration for him. In connection with the establishment of the German diplomatic missions abroad, these took him to more than 30 countries on six continents. Many impressions of cultures, people, colors and light are processed in his Berlin studio. His pictures hang in private rooms, in well-known companies and also in government buildings in Berlin.
