Chennai team won the state level kabaddi competition held near Vilathikulam.
A huge state level kabaddi competition was held ahead of the Bethanatchi Amman Temple Masiperun festival at Melmanthai village near Vilathikulam in Thoothukudi district. In this, 38 teams from various districts from Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Ramanathapuram, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar participated.
Following this, Chennai Bear City and Ramanathapuram Appanur clashed in the final of the Kabaddi match which lasted for two days in knockout format. In the thrilling final, Chennai beat Ramanathapuram to clinch the first prize. Ramanathapuram team came second and Thoothukudi team came third.
Following this, prizes were awarded to the winning teams.
