Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, I will try to find out those involved in this murder and ensure that they are punished. I will do that.

Seeking help from the relatives of the victims to ensure the punishment of the criminals, the Prime Minister said, I want your help too. If you know anything, let us know. Because, it cannot be allowed to play with Bangladesh again and again. So I want your help.

He said this while meeting the families of those killed in the recent violence centered on the quota reform movement at Ganobhaban on Sunday (July 28) afternoon and providing financial assistance.

The Prime Minister said, what did the people do wrong to kill like this! Killing people and the fall of the government – when does it happen, when does it happen? What is the fault of ordinary people?

He said, can anyone do this brutality like killing people and hanging the bodies, treating them like animals? A Muslim will hang the body of another Muslim and tie his legs! Those who are involved in these, must be judged. They have to be tried, otherwise people cannot be given security.

The head of government said, you have seen that every thing has been burnt and burnt. Places where people can get services. From that covid hospital to the place where we will work for the people, burning every place one by one. And shoot people like this.

Sheikh Hasina said to the family members who lost their relatives, I will only say this to you, you are sorry. And call upon Allah to save our country from the hands of these murderers and tyrants.

Stating that the demands of the anti-discrimination student agitators were accepted and patiently understood, the Prime Minister said, “We patiently tried to convince them, talk to them, everything.” But today there is this moaning all around. It is hard to bear.

Sheikh Hasina said, I have accepted all the demands of those who protested. That does not end the claim. One money is another. Then two more. Four again. Eight again. What is this? Repeatedly said ok, we are watching. I agreed to all the demands.

Assuring to stand by the families of the victims and the injured in the recent violence, the Prime Minister said, “I am with you as long as I am alive.” What can I say to comfort you? I will only say that I am one like you. He is an orphan who has lost his parents and brothers. So I understand your pain. I am for you, by your side.

Recalling the loss of a relative on August 15, 1975, the Prime Minister said, I understand your pain and suffering. We have to live with the pain of losing our parents, brothers and sisters. Even, I could not see the body, I could not do the burial. I could not return to the country, six years did not allow me to come.

He said, when I came (to the country), I traveled all over Bangladesh. I want to put a smile on the faces of the poor people of this country. That’s what I was trying to do. But this type of incident will happen again and again, this terrorist incident will happen – it is not desirable.

Expressing gratitude to the relatives of the victims for coming to Ganobhaban, the head of government said, “Everyone has come with difficulty, at a difficult time.” If today had been a good time, how happily everyone would have gone. And now I have to see your tears. This is the most difficult.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was repeatedly seen getting emotional during the speech.

Begum Rokeya University English Department student Abu Saeed, along with the families of 34 people killed in different parts of the country, came to Ganobhaban. The Prime Minister handed over family savings certificates and cash as financial assistance to these family members.

Earlier, the Prime Minister spoke to the relatives of those killed in the recent violence over the quota reform movement and inquired about them. Many people hugged the Prime Minister and burst into tears. At this time, the emotional Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was also seen in tears. The Prime Minister tried to console them. At this time, a heartbreaking atmosphere was created in the banquet hall of Ganabhaban.

While talking to the relatives of the deceased, the tearful Prime Minister consoled them and said, “Look at me, I am living with so much grief.”

At this time Ganobhaban was present among others, the Speaker of the National Parliament. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
