Those who have had colds receive protection from coronavirus

by time news

Scientists from Britain studied 750 health workers and came to the conclusion that those who get cold get T cells that protect against covid.

University College London monitored 750 doctors treating COVID-19 patients. They were at high risk of contracting the infection themselves. Blood tests showed that those doctors who had colds had an increased number of T cells, MedicForum writes.

58 people from among the investigated never received a positive test for covid, also there were no antibodies in their blood. Therefore, their own immunity helped them withstand the coronavirus. The analysis showed the presence of the maximum number of T-cells in these doctors, they had previously had a cold.

Scientists decided to conduct additional research, which showed that doctors had transferred covid, but tests did not reveal it. This is due to the ultra-low level of infection, which hurt doctors.
