Those who refuse to vaccinate in the USA are forced to take additional surveys

by time news

Large American companies are looking for all possible ways to ensure that as many employees as possible are vaccinated against COVID-19. And, according to The Wall Street Journal, those who say they cannot get the vaccine for religious reasons are asked to complete an additional written survey.

In total, the journalists of the publication got acquainted with the internal documents of seven companies, including General Electric, Disney and Pfizer. In some companies, such surveys consist of just a couple of questions, while GE asks employees to answer 13 questions, and Amtrak employees have to go through 31 questions.

Employers attribute the survey to the need to comply with the government’s requirement to protect the health of employees and conduct mass vaccinations. With the help of surveys, company management is trying to identify those who are trying to hide behind religious beliefs in order not to get vaccinated, without having any reason to do so. Employers believe that a person’s religious beliefs may serve as a basis for refusing to be vaccinated against COVID-19 if the employee adheres to religious rules in other areas of life, or, for example, does not take other medications, the components of which may contradict the norms of religion.
