PORT-AU-PRINCE – Protests against crime in the country are spreading in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince. Thousands of protesters took to the streets on Monday to protest gang violence that led to the death of a police officer over the past week. “We can’t live like this anymore. All the surrounding neighborhoods are firmly in the hands of the gangs,” said a young demonstrator. “People have already left their homes.”
