Thousands of people took to the streets today in Kandahar, southern Afghanistan, to protest the Taliban’s decision to evict the homes belonging to the families of former members of the security forces. The protests took place in front of the headquarters of the Kandahar governor’s office after the Taliban they ordered 3,000 families to leave their homes within three days, according to information gathered by the Jaama news agency. Demonstrators blocked one of the main entrances to the city.
