In a number of German cities on Sunday, March 13, thousands of people protested against Russia’s war in Ukraine. According to the Stop the War association, which includes 42 organizations, including Greenpeace, Diakonie, DGB and others, about 125,000 people took part in anti-war rallies in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Frankfurt am Main, Stuttgart. So, in Berlin, about 60 thousand people took part in the action, in Hamburg – 10 thousand people.

The demonstrators carried placards reading “Stop War”, “Stop Putin” and “Help Ukraine”. Many people were dressed in the colors of the national flag of Ukraine and carried balloons of the same colors.

According to the association, in a joint appeal, the participants in the anti-war actions that took place in five German cities demanded that Russian President Putin immediately stop the war, withdraw troops from Ukraine and respect the territorial integrity of this country. “The goal is peace talks in Europe without nuclear weapons, joint security, peace and disarmament of the belligerents of Russia and Ukraine,” the statement of the members of the “Stop the War” association says.
