Within a few minutes the malfunction indicator flashed on the platform “All Disturbances” in the sky. Around 7,000 reports were received between 3 and 4 p.m. Then there was an improvement – for a short time. Shortly before 6 p.m., thousands of disruptions to the A1 Internet were reported again. A1 confirmed the internet outage upon request from 5 minutes.

Experts worked at full speed

“Our experts immediately set about finding out what the problem was. “The network has now been stabilized again,” the A1 press spokesman told 5 Minutes.

Fixed now

Most customers should have an internet connection again. This is also proven by the numbers on “All Disturbances”, according to which, as of today (6.30 p.m.), only 700 reports have been received. The A1 spokesman emphasizes: “Only customers with a landline internet connection were affected.”

Was it a cyber attack?

The exact reason for the failure has not yet been determined. “Further analyzes are ongoing,” says A1. Speculation surrounding an alleged cyber attack has not been confirmed. “A telecommunications network is something very complex. There are many components involved that can lead to such a failure.”
