Thousands of Israelis serving in the various reserve units in the IDF received calls to their personal phones from their reserve unit tonight (Thursday), a call that was cut off when answered. It was a malfunction that caused the calls to be made, but many Israelis remained concerned that this was a true bounce.
The IDF commented on the incident and said: “Tonight a planned maintenance operation was carried out on the IDF dialer system, as part of which a fault occurred and as a result an error message (ERROR) was sent in English. No reservist was called to report for duty. The fault was dealt with already during the night and its causes are being investigated. The Reserve Center Available to the reservists for any inquiries.
